Product Options

This is a favorite of many adventure racers, day hikers and even peak baggers. It's a great little pack with lots of features. And it's been updated in 2005 to include a larger capacity front compression pocket. Perfect for the sprint-length adventure race, ultramarathoners and trail runners.

Features:
* G Fabric is a high-tenacity nylon fabric impregnated with silicone, so its fibers stretch under pressure instead of locking together and tearing
* Pack has a front zippered pocket, two side mesh pockets and a larger front mesh compression pocket for storing water bottles, jacket and energy food
* Right at your fingertips, mesh waist zippered pockets on hipbelt for stashing energy bars or gels
* New, canted bottom prevents sagging and positions pack's load higher on your back for ideal carrying
* Bottom compression straps and front bungee cord allow you to lash on and carry various technical gear
* When teammates bonk during races, use the tow loops to literally tow your teammates when in need
* Wrapping the waist is the laminated, diecut waistbelt with zippered essentials pocket
* AeroTech mesh on back panel helps move moisture away for a drier experience
* Hydration sleeve with an exit port holds a reservoir (sold separately) for hands-free hydration on the trail
* Reflective tape improves visibility

Specifications (one size):

Primal Quest 2006 success story
(Unknown) 4/6/2007 4:52 PM
This is the official pack of the Primal Quest 2006 volunteer crew! Did everything we needed it to do plus more. Carried rope, radio gear, food, water, WAG BAGS, you name it. Probably loaded WAY more into this pack than it was ever inteded to hold! Sometimes though, when loaded, it's a little hard to get to the zipper pulls if they are open all the way, or have both been slid to one side. The compression straps get in the way. Allin all, a very good race or day pack - very light and comfortable.

Great Racing/Day Pack for Women
(Unknown) 3/19/2007 4:33 PM
After trying several racing packs, the Gregory Reactor pack is now my first choice. Many day packs are not geared for a woman's shape. They are too wide in the back and cut into the arms and chest area. The reactor pack has a slim footprint on your back keeping you cooler during your adventures. The padded shoulders keep leaner figures comfortable for the entire day of activity. My second favorite feature is the pockets on the waste belt, great for storing all the necessities. Gel Packs, pencils, compass, chapstick, etc. No more asking your friend or teammate for help getting the "little things" out of your pack. I know several men that race in these packs and they are able to store all of their gear for races up to 24-hours. It's really well designed with pockets, mesh netting, places to hook carabiners into etc. Also includes a nice tow loop for those of you that race! I just wish they came in more colors.

We (Team MPGEAR.COM) have used this pack for the last two adventure racing seasons. I've found this pack to be perfect for 24 hour races or races that are shorter in duration but require more gear to be carried. Generally, the pack is durable but very light with ample room to store gear, food, water, etc. I especially like the additional storage pockets on the waist strap which are perfect for gels, bars, and snacks which you want to be able to access easily without having to stop. The large outer mesh pockets are large enough to accomodate a pair of shoes or climbing gear. The only problem I have found is that the waist straps tend to ride up and don't seem to fit well although this has never been a hinderance while racing. It may be more of an issue with people who have a longer torso. Overall, however, I would say that we, as a team, have been very satisfied with this pack and will continue to use it in future races.
